QUIET TIME

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

But without believing it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

It pleases our heavenly Father when we come before his throne of grace, with our wants, our needs, our thanks, and our praises. Seek for a quiet time in your day, a space in the world for just you and God--your refuge place, your place of respite and quiet. A time, a place that you can quietly and calmly make known your requests to God with expectation for deliverance. Spiritually speaking, the greatest cargoes of life come over quiet seas. Maybe your quiet time can be while washing the dishes or ironing clothes, mowing the lawn or taking a walk. Quiet time that is for just you alone with God in prayerful thought. More than likely you will have to guard this time, the world and the myriad responsibilities of life will try to intrude upon you.

At Christian Adoption, we encourage those that love God and seek to please Him, to spend quiet time in prayer.

Trust in Him at all times, ye people, pour out your heart before him, God is a refuge for us. (Psalms 62:8)

PEACE BE STILL

Lord, thank you for a quiet place

Right in the midst of storm,

Where I can find a peaceful rest,

And shelter from all harm.

O how the waves do thrash about

Throwing me to and fro;

But I hear You speaking,

"Peace, be still,"

And the turbulence must go.

Deep within my heart

Your thoughts

Bring comfort to my soul,

Helping me to onward press

Toward that final goal.

So I'll not fear

When trouble comes

Nor dread the darkest night,

When I hear my Lord say,

"Peace, be still"

I know I'll be alright.
