ONE YEAR OLD
Dear CA family,
Our adopted son, Christian, just turned one year old! I can hardly believe it. He has been with us for 7 mo. and our joy grows every day. I can still remember the many phone calls to Deborah after each disappointment, the waiting, and the counsel that she gave, "It will happen and when it does the pain will fade away." I of course would say, "Yes, I know, but when? Why can’t God tell me when? It would be so much easier." I'm telling you she was right! To those of you that are still waiting for your "champagne" child, let me tell you also that it is worth every heartache and every tear that you cry. It is more wonderful than you will ever imagine. Our son Christian is the greatest blessing that God could have ever sent. There are many times I want to share my heart with you--yet words are just inadequate. We will never understand all of God’s timing while we're here on this earth, but we know that it is perfect . Our wait for our child was not fun, yet it is what we needed to have THIS child--given to us by God in His timing. We feel that we are doubly blessed. Not only do we have a sweet and beautiful son, but we are truly blessed by his birthmom too. We loved her from the beginning, but she continues to grow more and more special to us. It is something that many don't understand, but we know that it is all God’s doing. When I pick up my son, he smiles and as I'm holding him he is giving me kisses as if to say, "I'm so happy to see you Mommy!"
Your time is coming too!
Do not give up hope, just give it to God and He will give you His best!
